There once was a baby girl born into the world on a hot sunny evening during the heart of summer. She was full of life and wonder but born with an organ weakness. As she grew, this weakness created chronic infections. The frequency and intensity grew to such an extent that her parents took her to a specialist at the age of six. Treatments were provided that helped temporarily but did not produce a long-term solution. During this time, the young girl felt scared because the treatments were painful and felt violating. This persisted for over a year until inevitably surgery was required. Now this young girl found herself on an operating table with the nurse hovering over her holding a gas mask. Fear filled her body as she felt alone with no escape. She cried “No! No! No! I don’t want this!” while shaking her head back and forth as fast as she could. The nurse eventually calmed her down, the little girl went to sleep, and they proceeded with the surgery. Thankfully, the surgery was a success and the chronic infections ceased. As time passed, the memory of this experience sunk deeper into her subconscious mind. She grew up, lived her life, got married and had children. Then in her mid-thirties, she had another bout with the infections that she had suffered from as a young girl. Treatments that worked in the past, did not this time around. She discovered a new affliction that was affecting this organ that was deemed incurable in traditional western medicine. After much research, she found an alternative solution that alleviated the symptoms. In the years that followed, she explored different alternative modalities in health and healing. Each step brought her closer to revealing what would change her life forever. During the next decade, she studied astrology. Discovering more about herself and her energy. Releasing the limitations of others’ expectations while uncovering her truth. She worked diligently with a shaman to overcome behavior patterns and mental loops while releasing held emotions. Healing the fear of that little girl on the operating table and the trauma caused by the treatments. Then one day the infection reared its ugly head once more. She tried all of the different modalities that she had researched and applied over the years with meager results. It was obvious to her now that she had brought this ailment with her into this lifetime for great purpose. One winter solstice, she went on a shamanic journey with the intention of discovering the cause that created this cycle of suffering and pain. She asked her guides, “What is the precise belief that is holding me in this cycle?” “What or who do I need to forgive to liberate myself to tell a new story?” The answer she received was “Mistakes lead to catastrophic consequences.” Suddenly, she saw a past life where she was a Native American Indian chief standing on top of a mountain. He was weeping while looking down into the valley below watching his tribe being annihilated. A decision he made cost the life of his people. His face was drawn with a lifeless look in his eyes. The chief was riddled with guilt, filled with anger and unforgiveness. This incident became a defining moment, and he vowed to never make a grievous mistake again. Tears welled up in the woman’s eyes as images of past lives flashed before her. Lifetimes filled with self-punishment, guilt, unworthiness, perfectionism, codependence, people pleasing, and unforgiveness. This was the origination of the cycle of her core wound; the anger toward herself. She asked for complete healing for the Indian chief and all the lifetimes she just witnessed. While she reiterated the phrase, “I forgive you and I love you.,” they were surrounded by golden white light felt throughout their being. Gracing their hearts with pure love, compassion, forgiveness, and peace. Reviving life within. Leaving smiles on their faces and healing the cycle. After the journey, she looked at the astrology of that moment and understood the planets supported this emancipation. This was the key that unlocked the door to a cascade of healing the physical issue she was born with and the patterns that held her captive for lifetimes. Giving birth to a new belief; healing can happen in a moment. Commemorating the beginning of a new story. That young girl and that woman is me.
